Hypnotherapy Techniques


Hypnotherapy is a skilled verbal communication, used during hypnosis, which helps direct your imagination in such a way as to bring about intended changes in sensations, perceptions, feelings, thoughts and behaviour. In a typical hypnotherapy session, I will ask you questions about previous medical history, general health and lifestyle. We will then work together on the changes or goals that you desire.

Hypnotherapy can be applied to a wide range of medical, dental and psychological problems. Areas of application include anxiety and stress conditions, weight control, addictive behaviours (including smoking, alcohol and substance misuse) and confidence issues. Hypnotherapy can also be used to enhance performance in several areas such as sport and public speaking.

You may wonder what exactly is hypnosis and how you become hypnotised? Here is a very simplified explanation. You actually do all the work as all hypnosis is self-hypnosis, I just facilitate your journey. I talk you a few steps to relax you and by pass what is called the “Critical Facility” which is the part of the conscious mind that filters out all the millions of pieces of information you receive each day. This way we can talk to your unconscious mind and make positive suggestions to make the changes in your life that you wish for. You will feel very comfortable, safe and relaxed. No one can make you do anything that you don’t want to do, you are always in control and in fact you can’t even slip into hypnosis unless you allow it to happen. You can hear everything that is being said and fully understand everything. You are in control.

F – EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

Faster EFT or tapping as it is also known is a tool that can help many life situations. There are points in the body called meridian points and they are the areas we tap during EFT. The Meridian System comes from traditional Chinese medicine and is a channel network that runs through the body carries energies and emotions.

There are 6 tapping point I use and this is a very simple and effective method of removing negative emotions or cravings. With EFT I teach you how to use this method effectively and then you use this as required when you need it and as often as you need it. I regularly use this in sessions for anxiety, food and nicotine cravings

Kinetic Shift

Kinetic Shift is Active, Intuitive, Dynamic, Energising. Kinetic Shift is a rapid method combining several different techniques to resolve Fears, Phobias, Anxiety, Weight Loss, Smoking and even PTSD and much more. We all know that we can’t express everything we want to verbally, so we use several other methods of communication and that is key to Kinetic Shift. To complete a kinetic shift I don’t even have to know what the situation is, you don’t need to talk about it if you don’t want to, all that you need is to be able to feel the emotion or feelings linked to what you wish to leave behind. If you can feel the emotion’s then it can be removed quickly and on almost all occasions in one session.

It’s a fun, technique that works fast with amazing results and has extremely high success rates.

My coaching sessions focus almost entirely on the present and future. In the first instance, we would together discuss the goal, structure, and outcomes so that a framework can be agreed and organized. Typically a client may want to work on career aspirations, life direction or even how to go about dating.

It is also not uncommon for someone to use a coach as a sounding board to create clarity in their life or even to become ‘unstuck’.
Coaching is all about actions and between appointments a follow-up email, with an overview of the session along with the agreed actions, will be sent to the client.

I frequently use NLP techniques when coaching and incorporate other skills and techniques if they are of benefit to the client.

Corporate Coaching

I offer workplace sessions to groups for career coaching and also stress and anxiety management and reduction. Those sessions are designed to share the required tools for employees to recognize, manage and reduce their own stress and anxiety levels, through the use of a tool bag of techniques that I will share with them. I would then expect the result of those workshops to develop an environment and culture where the staff will feel supported, absence will reduce and therefore lost time and costs to the business will result.
